Featured Artist of the Day - We Miss - The Crooks The "underground" band out of Austin was a mix of rock, country, bluegrass, garage, mariachi, Southern rock, Tejano, and a little bit of garage band. And it was glorious. Frontman Josh Mazour, drummer Rob Bacak, bassist Andrew Van Voorhees, instrumentalist Sam Albers, and accordionist Anthony Ortiz Jr brought a sound that was hard to describe, yet easy to listen to, and impossible to not enjoy. Their 2015 album "Wildfire" could easily be the soundtrack to a spaghetti Western, film noir, and/or Quentin Tarantino film. In 2017, accordionist Anthony Ortiz Jr. died after a 10-month battle with cancer. He was only 24 years old.
