Featured Artist of the Day - Kenny Rogers

We were saddened today to hear about the passing of legend Kenny Rogers at 81 years old. Born in Houston, Texas, Kenny started singing at an early age and formed the group The First Edition. Their first hit was "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town" that climbed to #6 on the US charts. They later had "Something's Burning," "Just Dropped In," "Tell It All Brother," and "Reuben James." Kenny Rogers and the New Edition had a TV variety series on from 1971 to 1973 called Rollin On the River. In the 80s, while going through a slump, Kenny started an acting career, starting with the TV-movie - The Gambler, based on his 1979 hit. He also starred in the 1982 movie Six Pack. In the 90's he became less and less visible. But, in 1999, he produced the album "She Rides Wild Horses" which included the #1 hit - Buy me a Rose.
